An Arrow Through The Heart Poem by Jayson Klarian Cortez

An Arrow Through The Heart

Whilst pain festers in ones heart, the soul remains tainted with sorrows.

Pitiful feelings arise, the heart swallows all in.

to be forgotten within ones mind, though dregs in ones core.

Dearest tenets of thys imagination and aspirations,

follow shortly thereafter.

Oblivious to the self destruction and pity, ones conundrums persist to arise.

Gradually, unwittingly, beginning to lose the means to the current state of mind.

although eclipsed by time,

confined within the oblivion of one's consciousness,

the arrow ceases to miss its target.

For once it pierces through the heart,

the sorrows inevitably bleeds through.

fracturing once more, striking with heightened potency.

And as anguish bleeds from the seeping cavity of your chest,

one has simply no choice but to address exactly what they've been avoiding to mend.

The arrow, so to speak,

is merely your own mind.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A rewrite of a poem I curated at 13, as you may be able to tell...I was an edgelord. Originally titled: 'Do not withhold the sorrows, for an arrow will pierce it out'. with that, was much shorter.
