An Elegy For The Metallic Flower Poem by Fedel Lester del Rosario

An Elegy For The Metallic Flower

A beautiful girl, beautiful as a flower,

Has come to my life once.

Her petals brought color to my life.

She taught me things,

Things that strucked me like a knife.

It may hurt but it really leaves some scars,

Scars that can't be remove.

And as a flower, she is fragile,

Fragile when you make fun of her.

This fragile flower is just like Superman,

She's a Girl of Steel.

Hard, hard ti get by her suitors.

Still, very still in her opinion,

Specially when she's right.

And shines up among other girls,

Because of being a smart, beautiful, and talented girl.

She never gave up on anything.

That trait of her is what I learned the best.

Because of being a flower and a Girl of Steel,

I call her The Metallic Flower.

But somehow The Metallic Flower rusted.

And hitted by a ten-wheeler truck.

And she was delivered directly to a morgue.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This elegy is for my cousin Grace Reyes. In an age of 14, she died with her brother in an accident. They were hit by a ten-wheeler truck, and declared dead-on-the-spot, year 2012. She is just like a mother to me. She taught me things which makes me who am I now. And because of that, we're just like the same person but one difference you can find in us is that I am lazy while she is a hard-working person. She is one of the most important person in my life.
