An Epiphany Poem by Matthew Petranovich

An Epiphany

</>An Epiphany,
A dream,
of walking a dark path.
An alley way, dark,
making you hold your breath,
and even with the people you love and
admire.
You're still are scared, the feeling doesn't
expire.

You look at a side alley,
and see a dark figure.
but it disappears,
fast as pulling a trigger.

Now you start to lag behind,
the people you admire,
not waiting for you in time.
You try to catch up,
but they keep walking faster.
You still feel the figure watching
you,
the feeling is disaster.

Now, the dark figure jumps out,
a bunny mask,
and a trench cloak,
scares you to pieces,
you start to choak.
You throw a punch that doesn't
seem to hit.
He grabs you,
and jumps up,
really quick.
He takes you to the beginning
of the path, and runs away,
laughing to death.

You see the people,
your friends,
you try to follow.
but the figure jumps out,
again. He does the same thing,
once or twice.
Until you start crying,
why oh why?

You decide to walk a different path
you meet different people,
Ones who care, and try
to hear the story, even though
you can't stop crying.
Then... you wake up

(This was a real dream, real epiphany. I couldn't follow the people I wanted
to. So I walked a different path. Why I used 'you'? Maybe to try and make
you feel like you were in the dream.)

This is a really interesting read - i definitely enjoyed it. Good work- written really well. You used good imagery to describe a really good message... 'Sometimes a different path is a better option'
