An Incubus Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

An Incubus

An Incubus
Of horrors
Not just the description
But the experience.
The Dream began it all.
In the middle
There rose a high
High
High
Mountains
With a pointed
Peal
That always jutted
Jutted
Jutted
Up
Up
Up
The heavens creaking
As irons in despair
Doors in pin
Nights in torture
Raping of Dawn in sleep.
Glaciers upside down
Seas and Oceans inverted to
The heavens.
Upside down and
Hanging
Hanging as if falling.
Screeched the Owl of Incubus.
