An Incurable Illness Poem by Dilek AVSAR

An Incurable Illness

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes as I dream of being with you
I assume that your sweet voice sings really
The beats in that voice intoxicate me
But when I realise all is an illusion
I burst into an endless grief
Swearing not get into such as this delusion…

Your naked flames burn me every minute
As I try to get rid of it.
By the way, I see I can not reach you
And my hopes will never come true..

Just like a leaf freezing in the storm
Strong feelings and fears are vibrating me
But knowing that I can’t resist it
I continue to love you helplessly…

What can anyone do for me
But remind your unique smile
Don t think I struggle to forget you
I will always be ready
To run towards your arms
My only remedy…

At the end of my each way
My eyes look for your cosy hands
In spite of my destruction day by day…
I still won’t run away from your mercilessness
With the hope of happiness…
