An Observation About Love And Concealment Poem by RIC BASTASA

An Observation About Love And Concealment

i've seen you close your
eyes
when i kissed you and i
thought
love is born from these
warm lips

there is no haste though
to this
much desired conclusion

i still doubt your arms
hanging
and without my shoulder
as anchor

after the kiss i am slighted
to the way you look
at the window

to the door that you look
forward
to open for you and hence
shall give you
the most graceful exit that
i think
you have always wanted.
