An Ode By A Forsaken Cigar Poem by Prabhu Francis

An Ode By A Forsaken Cigar

For decades, into love,
We have been in unison,
And why such an indifference now
To our bewitched acquaintance?

Have you long forgotten,
When the whole world told to stop,
With never ending love and passion,
You had still followed your heart.

I've been your perfect friend,
In every merry moment,
And an empathetic companion
In every dreadful torment.

I've shared your solitude
By embracing you warmly,
And I'v never ever abandoned
You in deep melancholy.

I've made you feel manly,
when you've carried and kissed me,
And I've sacrificed myself fully,
As a true lover should be.

Oh! tell me my dear man,
Why this indifference now?
Are such passing disdains common
With every genuine love?

I swear to you, lover,
you will once again return
with a lot more lust and fervour
To sacrifice yourself then.
