An Old Man's Walk Poem by Barney Rooney

An Old Man's Walk

Rating: 5.0

I'll not fall into an old man's walk
consolidated
bandy bent
laboured feet
behind the beat
to save the joints
for that's the point
of the way an old man walks

Can I bear the pain of a young man's walk
feet light to the ground
joints working free
swinging easy
on the beat
ankle hip knee
the stretch and the flex is the key
to the rhythm in a young man's walk

The odds aren't great but I'll try
and we'll see.
