An Old Poem Poem by RIC BASTASA

An Old Poem

an old man
walks downhill
following the path
that he once
prided

at the foot
of the hill lies the
six-foot hole

on the side
is the banyan tree
climbed by
this persistent vine
with white flowers

the place is calm
butterflies pay it
more visits.
