An Old Razor (In A Photograph) Poem by Michael Mc Dermott

An Old Razor (In A Photograph)

Rating: 5.0

The 1789 inscription on this gentleman's razor made me shudder
The guillotine on the scaffold in Paris might be its big brother
One to serve the removal of unwanted stubble
The other to establish the rights of the so called rabble

Succinct and to the point. Maybe if you had added a few more verses, perhaps a bit more description of the razor, likewise with the guillotine then perhaps pulling the two of them together in a final verse where you compare the jobs of the two of them? Just a thought.

hello Billy. It was just an off the cuff reaction to a photograph of what might have been an old cut throat razor with an inscription that had a lot of numbers and letters. Anyway I will try what you suggest and thanks for your comments
