An Unfamilliar Place And Time Poem by Jade Leven

An Unfamilliar Place And Time

Rating: 4.3

Sometimes I wonder
Why I am here
Why I haven’t been taken away from the things I love
Why I haven’t tried to escape the things I hate
I think it might have something to do with this place
It’s new, but I only like familiar
It is anything but familiar
I wish we were back where I belong
With some place to love forever
But you seem to like it here
You say that nothing could be better
Really?
Not even the same concrete
Beneath your favorite shoes (they don’t fit anymore)
Not even the same smell (We all know it so well)
Nothing can make you want to return
Maybe you thought it was time to move on
I know I didn’t
And I still come to this place dragging my feet
And holding the tears back
Because I have left my heart, my soul, my life behind
Every breath I breathe here is killing me, but still I come, for you
Only for you
If it was up to me I think I would have already left
But it’s not up to me anymore
I gave myself to you completely
It’s not that this place holds bad memories
I think it might be the fact
That it holds no memories at all.

The people you wrote it for love your poems and want you to be happy! ! ! it can't be all bad...can it? ...anyway this poemis beautiful in a sad connotation, something lost that you still feel is a part of you. keep writing beautiful poems, but get happy!
