but finding that you ran out of tears
a long time ago
it's like sitting for hours
thinking about something
that's impossible for you to ever know

it's like wanting to scream out
every word that is trapped inside your heart
it's like willingly watching
your life fall apart
it's like feeling hopeless
no matter what you do
that's what it's like
being in love with you

it's like becoming blind
at the worst possible time
when you most needed to see
it's like forgetting something
you thought that you'd always
remember so effortlessly

it's like being addicted
to what you thought was the cure
it's like always being scared
and never being sure
it's like knowing that what might kill you
is what might get you through
that's what it's like
being in love with you
