And More Nails Poem by Ceejon Ezinwoke

And More Nails

The signs so illustrious
As N diligently did his do
Standing up and falling again
Looking past mocking fingers
...And more nails, and more hammering

By the sun and her dear moon,
P tries to tell the time
Hair-splitting an argument
Confined yet within the ceilings
...And more nails, and more hammering

The moon deserts now the sun
Last sand down the Hour-glass
G perforates the kite's playground
The signs went more illustrious
...And more nails, and more hammering

In a Lagos-bus-driver-agility,
Thoughts jogg past memory lane
Wishes swore to remain wishes
P submerged, with no lifeboys
...And no more nails, and no more hammering.
