And, Still I Walk Away... Poem by Debora Short

And, Still I Walk Away...

The essence of true peace
is indeed here in the mountains
yet my soul
still
requires the sea...
the quiet early morning walks on the beach,
the sunrise
and
the rhythmic energy and sounds of the waves
all call me.
It is a bit like my long-distance relationships
with friends
and loved ones
something is missing in my life
when
we don't meet yet,
I still keep walking away.
