And The Promise Made... Poem by Anukruti Mathur

And The Promise Made...

Rating: 5.0

Waiting for the evening
To roam outside and breathe in fresh air
Eve teasers are sitting beside the road,
But who does care?

Throwing pebbles, doing absurd talks
Even the person feels ashamed who,
From your nearby walks.
These incidents are now not so rare
Rather, have become an everyday affair.

Despite of wasting time in barmy acts
Work for the welfare of the nation,
The world will give you a standing ovation
And we will get an example, for the next generation.

What pleasure do you get in snatching somebody's pride
Who will sooner or later
Become somebody's bride.
When you will lay your life
To save the country's fall
Your coffin will be covered,
I promise, with tricolor stroll.
