And Wait What Is Coming Back To You Poem by RIC BASTASA

And Wait What Is Coming Back To You

what you think
is faulty logic
creates an itch
in your hands and
so you scratch it
until you begin to
bleed.

an itchy feeling
a wounded hand
scarred.

sometimes the way
to make a point is
to inflict the pain
that you inflict
to yourself.

a friend of mine named
manuel was expelled from the
seminary with an advice
that he still needs to be
shaken in the world
as the walls of the church
have shielded him
so unnecessarily

and he had kept that puzzle
what is in this self that needs to
be shaken
in order to be accepted back inside
the arms of the fold?

it is to lose and be completely lost
that one finds back
the stronger self within.

it is to be fallen like a dead leaf
and be rotten
to give way to the sprouting of that
seed which cannot trace its
roots anymore

it is perhaps, i admit this doubt,
that situation when there is nothing to choose
where there are no more options
but just to let go
and wait what is coming back to you
