Angel Poem by Nancy Butterworth

Angel

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes when I close my eyes
I feel you there with me
On the best nights, I see you
Just beyond my vision
But I could not describe you
Nor would I wish to
It’s enough to know you’re there
And have been through lifetimes
Through my terrors and my shame
Through my loneliest joy
You’ve caressed my errant soul
And never doubted me
When your infinite goodness
Glowing, overwhelms me
I scatter you like embers
Red soul sparks on the wind
Catch the nescient wretched
Carry them, my angel

What a wonderful poem, Nancy and so well written. It gives me immense joy when I read the poem. A lot of beauty and grace in your words. We all have guardian angels but I am sure God sent his favorite angel to watch over you. Otherwise I too, would be able to write the way you do. Thanks a lot for sharing this gem with us all.
