Angel, Unknown Muse Of Devotion Poem by James Darwin Smith II

Angel, Unknown Muse Of Devotion

Angel, unknown muse of devotion
This heart beats restless dreams
Beautified by the mystery
Of not yet knowing
Whom this love
This inspiration
Is coming from

Mind astray
Dazed with wonder
Frozen by thoughts
Running faster and faster
If only they can slow down
So when I find you
This nervous energy
Would render itself obsolete

Beautiful wonder
Feeling the essence of your soul
Yet at the same time
Smelling the scent of perfume
When no one is around

Why this torture?
Are you stuck in the clouds?
Scared to fall down
Trying to find someone to save you
I would, if I could
Just give me the chance
Of our lifetime

How do you see me?
Please see this soul
This flesh is mistaken
Forsaken
May this spirit be felt
By the presence of your love

Angel, am I too low?
Expectations looming
Assuming too much
Please never be like them

Dreaming on
In my own universe
Will you join me?
Or is it good enough?

Time ticks with hands of insecurity
The past redundancies bleed out
Drowning me with too much anxiety
Where do I go from here?

Angel, uknown muse of devotion
May the skies shine upon your soul
All in the name of love
Even if I am not good enough
I never want to see you suffer

Where will you go from here?
