Anger And Guilt Poem by Josie Spence

Anger And Guilt

I run
Trying to get away
The darkness is getting closer
Shadows flooding the grounds
Faster and Faster I Run
NEEDING to get away before the Darkness consumes me
Knowing what will happen if I don't
It gets harder and harder to run
Darkness swirls through the air like smoke making it harder to breath
It is getting closer
Too close
I know there is no getting away now
The darkness laughs at my last attempt to escape
But it's no use
I feel it building up inside me
Then I burst
Like a water balloon being overfilled
The darkness being released from me in angry spurts
Then it's over
And peace washes over me
Like a soft warm blanket compared to the darkness
Then I see what the darkness has done
A new feeling consumes me
Guilt
