Animal Male Poem by Radhuga Sreekumar Geetha

Animal Male

Rating: 4.5

The animals in my lap
The cute ones wound I tended
The ones that kissed me thanks
Why call them beasts?
Did you ever see the ones I saw?

Hugged and waved to my mom
Gave a kick at my sisters butt
Threw away the paper from dad's hands
I stepped out of my lovely home
Did I know that was the last of all that?

I think this while
Burning, burning, burning
Pain at its superlative heights was
incinerating with the hated faces
and voices being the last view in earth.

Coldness broke the burning coldness of fire
Yes fire is ice after all that
happened before my eyes.
Let it come
Come purify my insinuated body

Stripped off my clothes
Ripped off my modesty
Shredded all my dreams
Dementor kissed my happiness
They are called humans!

The little harmless ones
I saved.
The calves I helped deliver
The tiny pups I vaccinated
Are'nt they called animals.

Human men are powerful
They give worse than death
To fellow woman
Poor lion hungrily waits
For lionesness' kill

If a male please pray
To be a human male
Don't be the animal male
Who fortifies around
His sister.
