In sways the Ebony
in cheerful swagger, dancing Baion
embodies the Zambomba
Enamouring his gal
How I wish to dance in this new beat.
Everybody comes to see it happen
‘Chicka! Where are you going? '
‘I go' she says ‘to dance the Baion'.

So I'll sway like Ebony
in joyful swagger, dancing Baion
embodying the Zambomba
Enamouring my gal.
Ready I am to dance in newer beats.
Everyone'll come to see it happen
And I'll enamour when she is near
‘Chica! Where are you going? '
‘With you' she'll say ‘to dance the Baion'.
