Another Agenda Poem by Victoria Gauci

Things in life are going along fine,
Then the river of life changes course,
Twirling and spinning
Your emotions and thoughts,
And knocking you right off your horse,

Something you may have expected,
Ends up being given to somebody else,
The disappointment can ache
like a stone in your heart,
And cause wound to your emotional health,

Take a moment to gather your senses,
And repeat to yourself 'it's okay',
A learning experience to conquer,
To start over and face a new day,

Just because something you wanted,
Didn't come to you just when you thought,
Hold your head high, think well of yourself,
It's a battle that need't be fought,

The Lord gives us what we can handle,
All though it seems more than we can,
He may have another agenda,
Our own individual plan,

We need trust in Him to guide us,
To help us see through the glass,
Instead of looking at our reflection,
And keeping ourselves in the past,

Pray to our glorious Father,
For we are forever in His mind,
What a marvelous friend we have in Him,
From now till the end of time.
