It used to be when darkness fell,
That it meant my soul would relax no fear to tell.,
But now when night time draws in,
My ego returns and reminds me of sin.
I miss the days when darkness brought hush,
Yet now at these moments I wish that life would just rush,
I know it's a season and it will pass by,
But it feels like my soul wants to give in and die,
The sun will rise soon and so will the moon,
And after this long wait it can't come too soon,
But grateful I am that these emotions are real,
Cos finally awoken at last I can feel.
So don't read this poem and think of the bad,
Read it with a smile and realise I'm glad.
Enlightenment not easy, some time its a the pain,
But the beauty is brought, my hearts to contain.
So as I lay back and close my eyes,
I thank the creator for freedom from lies,
I think of my friends and the love that they show,
I've being waiting for years, I just didn't know.
So to those who read this, feel no sad at all,
For life has arrived, and helped me stand tall,
Stand in the sun and feel it's warm rays,
For now my eyes open I enjoy each of my days.
It used to be when darkness fell that I felt safe and well,
But having realised the truth, my heart starts to swell.
With all of the moments a balance is brought,
No longer in the worlds web am I court.
At last I am free to understand what is me,
My life's mission now is to let moments be.
I don't run from happy, so why hide from fear,
There's beauty in both, so I let them draw near.
