Another Year Poem by Samantha Stough

Another Year

Rating: 5.0

After a long struggle to break past
A mirror of uncertainty
I kneel by that old fire place

It is a warmth that defeated so many winters before
But for some reason,
I cannot feel it against my face

Situations seem so dire,
But it never crossed my mind before
I will not shed a single tear

A bitter numbness inside of me
Shall melt into patience
I can wait another year
