Another Year Begins Poem by Bryan Taplits

Another Year Begins

Another year now is here
Another year of play
No longer is the drear so near
For today is now another DAY!
The summer's doles have come and went
It stole our lusty souls
And we bereft (and sweat and sweat)
As though we're made of coals.
Then fall and winter came
A' knocking on our doors
The ice the snow
The skids the leaves-
We droop as if on floors.
But today has something new
It's a rocking on our wings
A new borne cries and points outdoors
Finally!
Thank God, it must be Spring.
