Anyway Poem by Joseph D E Phillips

Anyway

All that I create...
All that I am
and all that I become
will die with the stars
but I choose to shine anyway.

My books will crumble
and be forgotten
but I will write anyway.

You will forget me
but I will greet you anyway.

Our love will end
but I will kiss you anyway.

Life is meaningless.
All of this is for nothing
but I choose to live it anyway.

I choose to live it with vigor.
I will scream life with exhilaration!
I will swallow it by the glassful like a drunk.

Life hurts, oh god, does it hurt...
but I am in love with the pain of existence.
I refuse to let one moment of it pass me by...
You'll have to rip it from my cold, dead fingers...

If I am but a blip in the universe
I'll be the brightest fucking blip

the universe has ever seen.
