Apocalypse Poem by Naleen De Alwis

Apocalypse

Night caught
in the roar,
The moon fractured
fallen onto the hot sea,
The stars evanesced,
Sky's skyless
Light's without light,
But with the light of missiles
piercing the pitch darkness.
The sun hidden
enwrapped with black clouds,
pregnant with powdered shell.

Bitten by the teethof
monstrous war,
walk humans with ripped hearts
across the debris
where negativity landed.
An infant pared
among the blood curdling yells,
Sucking the breast of mum dead
Clogged in the dross.
Sojourners in the alfresco,
Holding the blood-stained trident andcross
Praying the GOD
that moulded the enemy
to the ‘man'.
The purgation of virtues
The purgation of humanity
And there is something funeral
in the whole offspring
HE created.
