Apparently, I Was Wrong Poem by Anderson Greenwald

Apparently, I Was Wrong

This day is too long
I awake
To the sound of crying
To the sight of a sighing mother
I stand up
To see if it’s okay
If everything’s alright
And she said

“No
You were wrong
This is too hard to say
That it’s okay
No
You were wrong
This can’t take up the rest of my life
Now is the time I leave
I
Cannot stay
This is not suppose to be
You with me
No
You were wrong
I can’t take anymore”
The knife on the floor
Knew what she meant
