Apply The Science! - - - (General 5 Star Rant!) Poem by Barry Van Allen

It is difficult to see the way to go at times,
and yet at other times the course is plainly marked,
... that which we are granted,
we too often take for granted.

In a world made of plastic, chrome and glass,
we see our blessings scattered far and fast,
being honest seems a virtue of the past,
smiles free with compliments,
and people are too tense,
... and, watch out for the other guy - - -
... It doesn't make much sense!

We look out at our resources,
and we watch them dwindle fast,
in our world made of...
plastic, chrome and glass.

We often stroll around unconsciously,
unbalanced by the intensity,
as we forget the sensitivity,
begun, and stopped in the 1970's.

Ecology, has our sympathy,
but too little, hardly ever done,
the gears are very slow - - -
when there is only one!

Zooming toward tomorrow,
while others are looking for survival,
it is easy to be ' know - it - alls ',
when we seem to have it all,
... and won't share it... at all!

A new approach is needed,
to help the others up...
it is not as if they fell down on their asses,
they just didn't turn their simple world,
into plastic, chrome and glass!
- - - YET!

What will happen when they do?
when they cut down all their trees?
... and start driving cars,
... and blowing more garbage into the air?
... a Billion here... a Billion there,
... a few more Billion people everywhere!

It doesn't take an 'Einstein' to figure this one out,
- - - stand ' Pat' and go extinct,
OR start dealing with the problem,
and apply the brain that made the world this way,
- - - and fix it!

There will always be those people,
that think that the 13th century,
was the epitome of mankind,
... and they will kill everyone to prove it.

Mormons, Catholics, Hindu's,
whatever myth you choose,
... but this is what you MUST believe,
HE /SHE is leaving us to dig ourselves out,
... of the deep hole that we dug!
