Apprehension

So many times we worry -
so many times we fret
Because of changes in our lives
For nothing stays just set.
Life cannot always be the same
Just learn to live each day-
The very best that you know how
In your own special way.
The changes very often
Are a blessing in disguise
We need not be discouraged
When these changes do arise.
And when we venture something new -
we wonder if we should
We worry and we magnify - might
change things if we could.
You find you have to gamble -
For life is quite a game.
One time you lose -
one time you win
Most times you really gain.
But you must never give up hope
For when the chips are down
You'll find so often you can cope-
no need was there to frown.
Life's changes very often
are really for the best
You need not have been worried
Or lost much needed rest.
No, nothing in this world of ours
Can stay the same forever
No one alone has ups and downs
We face them all together.

Thank you Rita...for such a lovely poem. I had started losing my faith in poetry, there being so much free and blank verse...prose being passed off as poetry. Keep writing
