For money in your bank account,
Interest's not a great amount!
When I get discounts far and wide
I can't help feeling good inside.
I sign in to websites even now,
To see if I can save somehow.
To save a fiver here and there,
Check weights and prices to compare.
As for the misers' holy grails,
Check the seasonal bargain sales.
Yes, every web page changes things,
With bargains waiting in the wings.
With three for two or four for three,
Great discounts there for all to see.
And in these times, with apps to use,
What wondrous discounts we can choose.
Free Postage? That's another plus!
What else remains out there for us?
I've saved a thousand pounds this year,
On prices that were way too dear.
With coupon apps upon your screen
Enjoy yourself by being mean.
Why pay top dollar every time
When saving cash feels so sublime?
So, please use coupons when you can!
They're better than your savings plan!

Here is a new poem by the Poemhunter poet Denis Martindale.
The title is: ARE YOU REALLY SAVING MONEY?
Banks invest our money and usually pay us little or nothing.
What if we spend our money to get savings that are better ways to budget our finances both now and in the future? What if we sign up with websites to get their email discounts and voucher codes, or sign up with coupon or cashback websites? Some credit cards offer us website discounts, so are we ready, willing and able to cash in or not? Will we compare prices online or explore further in forums for tricks, tips and workarounds? Most of us have seen TV advertisements about the New Year Sales, but sales happen throughout the year. Think about St Valentine's Day, Easter, Bank Holidays, Summer and Autumn Sales, Back To School Sales, Halloween, Christmas and Boxing Day Sales. There's never been a better time to think about the possibilities!
