Arise Poem by Midifo Yearns

I will rise up and go now
to seek that special place
where the swells and waves of ocean
break on rocks and spread like lace

Lace that is so lovely
yet so very fragile too
for it’s filled with holes of nothingness
that make the picture true

And there, with view of ocean
high up upon that hill
I will sit for long and ponder
why life can sometimes kill

Kill or maim the searching heart
and harden soul that’s mild
break promises and shatter hope
drive out the inner child

And there I’ll cry and beckon
I’ll plead with him to come
and dance around the holes
to weave the lace then run

Run with me into silence
and hold my heart in his
teach me how to love again
for, in love, we’ll find our bliss.
