Arise To Soar Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Arise To Soar

Suffering in depths of despair
In devil’s haunts of woe
Blaspheming Heaven everywhere
Still Jesus loves us so

Arise, to soar, climbing higher
Where faith, truth would reveal
What saints possess, rogues require
What repentant souls may feel

What selfish love cannot receive
What countless saints died for
Where but Salvation’s sweet reprieve
Opens life’s yearned for door

Seek; what no mortal eye, has seen
No faithless ear, has heard
No shameful soul, has ever been
Believing Christ absurd

Christ’s a fool’s imagination
A child’s fairy story
An unknown author’s creation
Seeking fame and glory

Though fools wisdom may try to speak
Conveying in truth a lie
For such, the future becomes bleak
Upon the day they die

When Jesus is seen face to face
When hell opens its door
When saints with Jesus take their place
To live forever more

When finally death will come to cease
When crowns wear grace and love
When laughter, sings joy’s song with peace
To Christ, life’s King above…..
