Arithmetic Vd Poem by John W. McEwers

Arithmetic Vd

Stepping into my socks
I make sure they're tight and high
because if they're loose they
wriggle between my toes
and subtract confidence

Shoes, shined,
sparkly Converse
with new laces
instead of the brownish ones
from yesterday -
- confidence +1

Going to walk
in town tomorrow
and see the faces
of the lonely,
reach out with my hands
full of giving
and share my confidence
and see it multiply

There are lonely souls
roaming, waiting,
hoping for me
and who'll love that they met me
the day when the lonely
are lonliest
from division
from the ones they love

Let's unite
spreading VD
cheer
for the ones who don't
already have it

((2+14+2012) x(U+I) =Happy Valentine's Day!))
