Arrival In Heaven Poem by Maree Scarlett

Arrival In Heaven

Arrival in Heaven
- for Edith

The beach seems to be eternal,
here the coast-line disappears,
and life meanders a similar
joyful melody in yellow flowers.

Life, what an orchestra you conduct!
We came from near here
and we are sated by listening,
we always have a poet
whose cadence resounds like yours.

Springs wreath of words crowns me
in celebration I lay in your arms.
You who’ve shown me a glorious land
where beach bushes move freely,
and where waves in wind
roll on a shore of happy beauty.
