As A Philosopher Dressed Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

As A Philosopher Dressed

As a Philosopher dressed
With toga white and long
Barefoot amongst trees walked I
Slow
Slow
For in that sacred aisle
The trees of wisdom were
The trees of wisdom grew
The trees of wisdom rose
And
Thence
Civilization to civilization
Rose
And more
Civilization new to new civilization.
