As Below, So Above (Sonnet #5) Poem by Tina Baaklini

As Below, So Above (Sonnet #5)

If love had ears and heard our longing vows
It would breathe in relief for love endures
If love could see our dreams it would be wowed
For they transcend the seven skies for sure

Yet love is neither blind nor deaf, love feels
It feels ripples of vibes from lovers' hearts
O no! Not by words! Love is pleased by deeds
Pure deeds paint hearts in white, a snowy art

Ah! But when wars are done in the name of love
Innocents die as snatched and trampled buds
Their souls soar to rest in heaven above
While the earth boasts raising toasts of wine as blood!

As below, so above; as love in hearts dwells
Love writes our names in heaven or in hell
