As Emotions Stir Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

As Emotions Stir

Rating: 5.0

Should love feel like a kiss?
Or should a kiss feel like love?
I seek an answer from within or from above
I really don't understand the thing I seek most
And feel so lost without: Love
But there is no kiss
No sense of bliss
No tender hug
No heartfelt caress
There is none of this
I think it's love I miss
or it's tenderness
Maybe someday
I'll be so blessed
To feel the answer beat
Surely within my chest
Until then, life feels a heavy test
loneliness wrapped in emptiness
Like a desert of endless scorching sand
My heart is weary for the very thing
I don't know how to find, nor understand
I want the world to disappear
No more pain or fear
I dream of being close beside her
Inside of me
Loneliness feels more pronounced
Harder
As emotions stir
The rest is just a dream, just a blur
