As I Sit Here Poem by Lisa Brashier

As I Sit Here

As I sit here,
Watching the world go by.
I often wonder why?

I wonder why I am alone,
There are people I could call on the phone.
But it will not help,
As I sit here.

Day after day,
I wish I could find someone.
To sit and talk,
To laugh and play.
To hold my hand and never walk away.

But still I sit here,
Watching the world go by.
Doubting that I will ever truly know why!

Maybe tomorrow will be the day,
That I can stop my search
And finally say,
This is the day.

I no longer sit here,
And watch the world go by.
I have found the special person today,
That will be in my life to always stay.
