As If Poem by Alfred Ramos

As If

As if we had globs of time
Framed so pretty as if by design
As if a rainbow is waiting around the bend
To wrap itself around our troubles on the mend
As if the sun is stuck behind a hill
Waiting for us to pulled it up from its ill
As if happiness was always a guarantee
And we would fall on the lap of luxury
As if we didn’t know
Which way the tide will flow
And take away our sand castle dreams
Waking us from nightmare screams
As if we are prepared to die
As if it can happen in the blink of an eye
As if I was talking about you and I
