As It Lay There Sleeping Poem by Ragy Sandid

As It Lay There Sleeping

Rating: 5.0

Black as a starless night
Coiled like a snake
To the best and worst
Always half-awake

Huddled out from the heat
Embracing the car's top
Sleeping as if the world never starts
Or it never stops

The picture of peace
As it coils to collect warmth
How it lets go with ease
And it attacks in swarms

The dog that left the world
For just that little nap
Picked up where it left off
Every situation has its snap

Humans gets into their cars
Confronting their own comfort
While it lays sleeping
Even that is worth the effort
