As It Once Was Poem by Megan Russell

As It Once Was

Could it be only a dream
I had shared of you and me?
I had dreamt it to be.
Touch for his was real.
Space and its pain to bare.
Time my friend-
Be a saint and spair me this fate.
As it once was,
that ever changing clock laughing in my head.
Will you ceased?
That ticking,
oh to be rid of it.
I'm reminded o his dream I was in.
Let it be, let it go.
Be only a dream and wake up!
The bliss we had shared disappeared.
And I'm left with but the pain of this dream.
As it once was,
to one day wake.
It will never be.
For it was but a dream,
as it should ever be.
