As The Dandelions Sing Poem by Dan Caliolio

As The Dandelions Sing

Baby doll, the taste of her lips
gives me summer nights.
84 degrees and counting 'I love you's' over phone lines.
It's never too much to say
that the clouds, the brightest ones took us back when baby worlds were the most golden pieces of the puzzle set.
I promise you.

It's when I look in her eyes,
that I'm free falling into the world.
The most beautiful pair,
of beds of evergreen trees.the greenest,
I see the world inside 'em.

My moon, we paint the clearest blue in the sky so far.
we're like painters, who fell in love with the stars.

I'm caught in between the lines,
because I caught fireflies, that shined as bright
as the tears of the sun, for our candle lit dinner.
babe you know you deserve the best.

Her hair, it's everywhere
I'm certain that within myself I'd find my summer of '08 when she'd breathe on my neck, and we'd cry
for we've hit nirvana along the way.
'I Do' the only song we knew how to sing
how to say,
how to act,
how to dance, as we make our marks on the widest routes on our bed.the widest interstates.

and there you were, lingering through my fingers,
promising 'forever'
bottling up perfection, and writing our story.
It was then, that I'd invade the small of your back
and you became my fingertip lover.
Sweet smell of the best roses and butterflies around town,
I guarantee, the sweetest.
for you, I'd count the sand over the ocean.
babe you know you deserve the best.

So as I sing today,
'I do' is the only thing enough to get me by.
baby doll, the taste of your lips,
with the sweetest kiss of the cherriest cherry you'd ever taste, I give you these fireflies.
Its 84 degrees, and as long as this tonight, they shine,
'I do' will get my eyes.
I know, I promise.

She's everything.
my everything.
You're my Getaway
and I'll drown myself nothing but your summer nights.
