As Time Passes Poem by Alyssa Baker

As Time Passes

Rating: 5.0

Covered in darkness I sit alone
Time continues to pass
While I sit in the dark
Alone

Surrounded by four walls
My heart splits in two
And endlessly bleeds
Drop by drop

The bruises that were left to heal
Remain as wounds
Reluctant to heal
They cease to be cured

In years to come the bruises remain
Scars of the life I tried to forget
The life that haunts my dreams
That shadows my character when awake

But one day
One day the bruises will heal
And all that will be left will be scars
Just the scars

Something to remind me to never go down that path again
To never have to deal with the wounds
To never have to deal with being in the darkness
All Alone

Very good poem. Lots of emotion and this is kinda like my writing style of some of my poems, so I can relate. Great work!
