As We Meet Poem by Kimberly Hope

As We Meet

My heart began to beat faster.
I could feel it beating through my chest;
my chest began to hurt.
It was so hard to breath.
Walking faster and faster I did.
My feet felt as if I were pounding them
into the ground with every step.
My legs had become weak.
And I didn't know what else to do.
So, I kept pushing myself to walk further,
to walk faster in my path.
I look up, only to see you,
and we both grin wildly.
For a moment I turn around to laugh at us.
Upon turning back around,
you're only a few feet away.
I run into your arms, wrapping mine around you,
for I never want to let you go again.
So happy we are around each other.
I am at so much ease and happiness.
All I wanna do is cry.
I want to take off with you,
and live, forever, in our world.
