As Years Go By Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

As Years Go By

The clock still ticks, the days fly past,
The fleeting hair leaves brows at last.
Yet nose and ears sprout wild and strange,
As gravity demands its change.

Though skin turns crinkled, lines appear,
The inner fires burn bright and clear.
A hungry heart, a grateful sigh,
And beauty is found, in women's eyes.

Old courage fades, though minds stay strong,
And heavy days can still go wrong.
A shadow falls, the mood turns blue;
Regret finds room in me and you.

Yet through the mist of fading youth,
The quiet hours reveal a truth:
The fleeting years, may bend the frame,
But what is deep remains the same.
