When will my spirit finally win
And my flesh bend
To Your will O God and not my own
My God my Savior my Friend
For the things I long to do
I find myself without
And the things I desire not to do
I seem to act them out
As if in some sort of play
And I in the lead
The spotlight upon my face
The whole world watching
Waiting for my fall
Only to laugh in my face
Redeem me O God
As You only can
Give me Your unending grace
Your mercy and truth
Your wisdom and strength
For I long to see Your face
Forget not my petitions
Nor my requests
Remember me upon Thy throne
I am but weak and pitiful man
Cleanse me as You only can
