As You Understand Him Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

As You Understand Him

To know Him, first know you,
The quiet voice, the inner clue.
It whispers right, it whispers wrong,
Where good and bad truly belong.

Some call this whisper, God above,
Some say it's simply self-love.
Love for others, all around,
On this good earth, we all are found.

The root of all, the guiding light,
Makes everything feel good and right.
No need for more, the answer's found,
In this pure goodness, all around.

No good comes from a cloudy glass,
That path, you see, will quickly pass.
This inner light, this gentle grace,
Is God in every time and place.

No need for names, no need for more,
This goodness is at nature's core.
The start of all, the purest thing,
The song that all good hearts can sing
