Ash And Snow Poem by Joshua Bantum

Ash And Snow

It was so cold I could barely see the words escape your desperate body,
But those even
Tripped out so fickle,
Barely felt in this murky air,
I tried to abandoned what else was here,
So you could see that this moment of mine
Was a gift
For you to have and cherish,
For this instance,
My body was yours,
And I’d move,
Controlled by your thoughts,
Your emotions,
Flexed up precautious movements
Guiding my fingers across the places you
Desire,
Where you’re corked up,
I’d unscrew,
If you hid yourself from me,
I’d find you,
This is a common game
I’d hope we hadn’t needed to play
And in that black cave we both remember so well
My hands kept us warm,
Fingertips together,
I can feel your heart…beat....beat
Thumping like pulses of thunder across the canyon,
Echoing through our bodies, refilling our lush beauty
Valleys for us to fill with existence,
Beauty, hatred and lust,
And I can take you from this cave,
Where perfection lye between us,
Not around us,
We could go travel and see beauty everywhere,
But the ashes would gather from the fire we left,
a pile of snow gathering and fresh air breezes taking it,
Swirling it rambunctiously towards some where else,
a place I will follow till I find another,
For I’ve seen this beautiful world,
And will see it again,
But when I’m with you
It’s the rest of the world that should travel towards us.
