Ashes Remain Poem by Shubharthee Sarkar

Ashes Remain

Rating: 3.5

For my Meghbalika,
The young lady of eternity ……..

Culminating thoughts
Bury in the brimming ashtray,
Cryptic wonder finds trance
To unite with emotion …..
Straight from heart.

In cordial resonance
Inner chords vibrate
Stupefied by your actions
Grey matter coagulates…..
Rhythm of empathy covers me.

I still believe in your existence
The boulevard of feelings
Lie alone in murk,
I choose to sleep …..
Killing the sense.

Yet one more time
I wish to live,
To burn my candle bright.
Hold me tight, cover me…..
Let our souls blend.

You be yourself once,
And I will be myself
Yet again, no fear
About the cataclysm…..
Even if it be the nemesis.
